Students Tell It Best!

The Clark County School District is focused on one important mission: student achievement. And we have many goals and initiatives aimed at helping students reach their full potential. But unless you could visit all 357 schools and interview all 319,969 students every day of the year, there is no way to see all of the programs and activities, hear about every cool idea, or know all of the amazing personal and team achievements that take place inside our schools.  That’s why we need your help to share what’s truly special about CCSD from the students’ perspective!

All you need to do is create a video, 90 seconds or less, to share your own perspectives, ideas, personal achievements, and/or school successes around any of eight (8) different District goals.  Click on the contest categories below to learn more about CCSD’s focus on each goal and to get thought starters on potential video ideas.

For even more inspiration, review CCSD’s Pledge of Achievement District Scorecard to see the five-year targets and our current progress after the first year of implementation.  Click on the data links to see how your school is doing on each goal.

What Can I Win?

The Superintendent will personally select student and/or school videos to receive special recognition. You might even win a PRIZE. Hey, this is a school district, not a game show.  But we have some pretty awesome community partners, so the prizes won’t be lame pencil cases and stickers.

Selected videos will also get props, with features on CCSD’s Web site, social media, Inside Education on Vegas PBS, at Board of School Trustee meetings, and throughout the year to showcase how #CCSDAchieves.

How Do I Enter?

To enter the contest, upload your video to YouTube or a similar video-sharing Web site (standard format like mp4 or H.264).  Video content will be reviewed and approved prior to acceptance.

Download and complete the two required forms. The Submission Form is a fillable pdf – complete it electronically and save the file, or print it, fill it out by hand, and scan it. Print the Consent/Release Form – Waiver for Entrant in Video Contest and obtain your parent’s or guardian’s signature approval, and then scan it to add to the email.

Create an email with a link to the location of your uploaded video, attach both documents and send to:
